Type design, lettering and retail typefaces

I'm Anton Moglia, a type designer, letterer, and calligrapher. I create bespoke work for events, artistic invitations, posters, and brand identities, and I've collaborated with Hermès, BETC, Buzzman, and Le Coq Sportif.

Every month, I write Lettres Mobiles, a newsletter read by more than 700 people. In it, I talk about letters as a sensitive, poetic, and artistic form in their own right; I'm interested in signs, language, and what words tell us about ourselves and the world. The project also has its own podcast and a calendar of French-speaking typographic events.

I also advise agencies and brands on their typographic choices through The Type Finder. Committed to teaching, I regularly work as an instructor in academic and professional settings, and I run collaborative workshops to make the discipline accessible without dumbing it down.

A member of Velvetyne since 2016, a leading independent type foundry in France. There, I release typefaces under open licenses, designed to be used, modified, and redistributed, in a spirit of sharing rather than ownership. It's a different way of doing typography: outside the usual commercial circuits, with a community of designers who see letters as a common good.

Approach

I believe letters are the cornerstone of any brand identity. Typography and lettering remain my main tools, but I like to bring in a range of skills to give each project a fresh, contemporary edge. Independent, yet I always work closely with my clients, to bring out their stories and their values.

Internships

Unfortunately, the studio is not offering internships at the moment. Even a succulent plant struggles to find a spot on the desk!
